Liver Function Test (LFT) with Gamma GT
LFT (Liver Function Test) — checks SGOT/SGPT, bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase and proteins to assess liver health.
About this test
Liver Function Test (LFT) measures serum bilirubin (total and direct), ALT (SGPT), AST (SGOT), alkaline phosphatase, gamma-GT, total protein, albumin and globulin. It is used to investigate jaundice, suspected hepatitis, fatty liver, alcohol-related liver disease, side effects of medications, and to monitor known liver disease. A single venous blood draw is enough; fasting is not required but is preferred for accurate triglyceride values when included in a combined panel.
